LAS VEGAS—Mike Krzyzewski knows basketball. It turns out he knows a thing or two about HR, too. Krzyzewski, or “Coach K,” was the opening keynote speaker on June 28, 2015, at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) 2015 Annual Conference & Exposition.

HR professionals are the heart and soul of the teams in their organizations, Krzyzewski told 15,000 conference attendees. As team leaders, he encouraged attendees to create a winning atmosphere in their organizations—an atmosphere where everyone feels valued, where team members take ownership and where everyone can contribute.
